There is ample opportunity to provide electricity through alternative sources of energy, like solar cells and windmills, in the coastal areas of Sindh.

This was stated by Brigadier Dr Nasim Akhtar Khan, Director and Secretary of Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB), at a dinner meeting of 'Nice Link Trust' on completion of its seventh alternative energy project of about 5 kwt electrical supply, including two solar lights, provided through wind and solar power in Mubarak Village School, the last coastal village of Keamari Town.

The project was completed with the support of the German Consulate-General Karachi, and with the co-operation of Sindh Fishermen Co-operative Society.

German Consul-General Mme Grafin Von Roedren was chief guest. The founder cum secretary-general of Nice Link Trust, S S Haider, had pledged his efforts and support for the development of Sindh coastal areas by providing electricity and potable water through alternative sources of energy.-PR
